Eco-Tech Hackathon: Young Women from Three European Countries Gather in Cyprus to Develop Innovative Environmental Solutions
Ayii Anargiri of Larnaca Youth United, as the coordinator of the European project POWERFEM – Empowering Women through Eco-Tech Youth Innovations, will host the Eco-Tech Hackathon from 20 to 24 July 2026 in Pervolia, Larnaca, Cyprus.
The activity represents one of the most significant milestones of the POWERFEM project and aims to provide participants with the opportunity to put into practice the knowledge and skills they have acquired through the project's previous educational activities.
The Hackathon will bring together young women from Cyprus, Hungary, and Lithuania, who will work in transnational teams with the support of experienced mentors. Through creative and collaborative processes, participants will develop innovative ideas and technology-driven solutions to address today's environmental challenges.
Throughout the five-day event, participants will take part in workshops, team-building activities, mentoring sessions, and pitch presentations, during which they will present their proposed solutions to an evaluation panel.
The POWERFEM project is implemented by the following partner organisations:

Through this transnational partnership, the project seeks to empower young women by strengthening their digital, entrepreneurial, and environmental competencies while promoting their active participation in the green and digital transition.
Throughout the Eco-Tech Hackathon, photos, news updates, and highlights from the activities will be shared through the organisation's website and social media channels.
